There are programmes and incentives that encourage employers to take on mature age people.

From 1 July 2014, the Restart programme will assist employers to expand their business and benefit from the experience of mature age workers. The Restart Wage Subsidy will provide up to $10,000 in financial assistance to employers who provide jobs to people aged 50 years or older. Employers may be able to receive four payments over 24 months if they hire a full-time mature age job seeker who has been unemployed and on income support for six months.
