The Barossa Council is seeking a skilled Compliance Officer, to join our organisation and form an integral part of the Development Services team. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining development standards within the Council region and providing consistent and accurate development compliance advice to the organisation and broader community.
This role requires someone who takes pride in providing an exceptional customer experience and who proactively collaborates within and elevates the team environment. We are looking for an organised and efficient professional who thrives under pressure, rises to challenges and uses their negotiating and investigation skills to achieve a high quality and standard of compliance.
To be successful in this role you will require:
- Proven and successful experience working in a similar role.
- Effective investigation and negotiation skills in response to all enquiries
and complaints relating to land and building compliance throughout the
Barossa region. - A natural customer service ability with excellent communication skills to
guide stakeholders through enquiries regarding planning compliance. - A working knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations and Codes including
but not limited to the Development Act and the Planning, Development
and Infrastructure Act. - The ability to read and analyse plans and specifications and to source
and interpret relevant information. - An excellent ability to work within a team environment and
autonomously and to engage in knowledge sharing for the benefit of
team learning and development.
