This leading agricultural machinery dealership is focused on providing an excellent customer service experience to farmers across the broadacre, viticultural and horticulture sectors.

Due to the continued growth of their operation, our client is currently seeking an experienced Agricultural Diesel Technician. This newly created position will focus on providing support to the existing client base through the diagnosis of technical issues, along with remedial works, and machinery servicing.

This successful incumbent will be reporting to the Service Manager with duties including, however not limited to:

• Undertake diagnostic skills on all machine systems and perform necessary repairs to a high standard
• Establish and maintain a good working relationship with clients to ensure timely and effective servicing of machinery
• Advise customers of necessary repair service including estimates of the cost; also makes recommendations to customers for preventative maintenance
• Regular reporting of required work to the Service Manager and customer
• Be committed to seasonal (harvest and seeding) repairs and support (requiring rostered overtime, on call and weekend work)
• Direct and train apprentices and school-based apprentices when required
• Work both independently in the field and within a team in the workshop
• Comply with relevant WHS procedures to ensure corporate compliance as per WHS induction

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Have a Heavy Diesel Mechanic (or equivalent trade)
• Experience working on large agricultural farm equipment within the past three years
• A current unrestricted driver’s licence
• Proficient fault diagnosis computer and software skills
• The ability to deal with a variety of projects at one time
• The ability to develop effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders

The remuneration package includes a negotiable annual salary that includes overtime rates, bonus incentives and a company vehicle for work related travel. In addition, our client also offers regular training and professional development opportunities as well as an employment assistance program.
