Gawler East Primary School Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) are currently seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join their team as a Qualified team member on a permanent basis. Gawler East Primary School OSHC is a 60-place service operating Monday- Friday offering before school care, after school care and vacation care. The successful candidate must be available Monday - Friday from 6:45am-8:45am (not negotiable). Additional hours will be available as required and during Vacation Care. The position would suit an individual currently studying an Education degree who has completed two full years or an individual holding an approved qualification seeking casual employment in the OSHC sector. Job Requirements: - Leading the delivery of the Educational Program to the Before School Care service. - Provide and maintain a safe environment for all children, families and educators accessing the service. - Mentor and support other educators within your team under guidance of the Director. - Guide and facilitate children's learning through fun and current interest based experiences - Build respectful, reciprocal relationships with children, families, educators and the school. - Support the embedding of My Time, Our Place in the service program. - Adhere to the guidelines of the National Quality Standards and follow the service Quality Improvement Plans. - Stepping up as Assistant Director in the absence of Director or Assistant Director. Skills and Qualifications: - ACECQA approved qualification to work as a Qualified Educator (Example: Diploma of Children's Services or OSHC, Completion of 2 full years of an education degree with evidence) - Ability to recognise the needs of children and skills to nurture and support children - Current DCSI Screening - Current Responding to Abuse and Neglect training (RAN-EC full 7 hour) - Current HLTAID004 Provide First Aid - Knowledge of My Time, Our Place and the National Quality Framework. - Ability to cope in an emergency or in a stressful situation - Knowledge of age appropriate recreational activities Please contact the Director for a copy of the job specification on (08) 8523 3031 or Emma.Higgins562@schools.sa.edu.au.
