About the role

The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Technical Officer Pig Reproduction to be part of our South Australian Research and Development Institute within The Department of Primary Industries and Regions. The role reports to the Leader Pigs & Poultry.

The primary purpose of the role is to deliver technical support to a series of research projects investigating the housing, reproduction, nutrition and welfare of pigs.

The role contributes delivering the agency’s priorities including 3% increase of SA Primary Industry GDP by Growing productivity- Improve efficiencies, Drive AgTech, Enhance R&D technology and innovation.

The role contributes to managing the Pig Research Building, laboratory equipment, maintenance and repairs and will involve the daily care and management of experimental pigs, the design and preparation of diets, pig handling, implementation of treatments.
